Dish: Dessert
Prep Time: 1/2 hour
Serves: 8
Ingredients:
4 sleeves of Oreo cookies (or to taste)
1/2 C butter plus a little to grease the pan
1/4 C sugar
1/2 gallon of ice cream (vanilla is great)
Hot fudge in a jar
Instructions:
Mash the cookies with a potato masher or similar device until very small and grainy (and the white stuff disappears into the delicious cookie bits. Add melted butter and sugar - mix thoroughly. Lightly butter or grease a 9x13 glass pan. Put 1/3rd of the cookie mix into the pan. Layer in 1/2 of the ice cream - best way to do this is to cut away the carton and slice the ice cream with a knife. Layer 1/3rd cookie, then the rest of the ice cream, and top with remaining cookie mix. Heat the fudge in the microwave until it is pourable and then drizzle over the top of the cake. Cover with tin foil (can use toothpicks to preserve the look of the top and keep the foil from sticking to the fudge) and freeze for at least 8 hours before serving.
